Schwedisch für Idioten ReviewThis is a German novel (translated from the Swedish "Svenska för idioter"). Since there isn't a product description, I'll give the summary from the back of the book (I'm assuming you understand German if you're interested in buying this):
"Wie ist Henke Törnkvist bloß in der Idiotenklasse gelandet. Er was fruher doch ein ganz guter Schuler. Bis das mit seiner Schwester passierte. Und seit sie im Schwedischunterricht ein Buch schreiben wollen, kommt bei Henke alles wieder hoch. Oder liegt es gar nicht an dem Buch? Liegt es daran, dass er sich verliebt hat, ausgerechnet in die beste Schulerin der Schule? Dass plötzlich sein Vater auftaucht, der sich bisher nie fur Henke interessiert hat? Dass sich seine Mutter sonderbar benimmt? Langsam zerbröseln die unsichtbaren Mauern, die Henke um sich errichtet hat. Und er begreift, dass das, was dahinter liegt, alles andere als zum Furchten ist. Schließlich ist er ja kein Idiot".
I found this book to be pretty funny at certain parts, sort of boring at others. The main character wasn't very easy to get to know. I was a bit surprised at the number of sexual references though (not that I'm a prude or anything); I thought this was targeted around a younger audience. And the ending was pretty...well dumb to be honest. Anyway, this book seems to be fairly expensive on the American Amazon website, so I'd advise ordering this from Amazon.de if you're interested in getting a copy.Schwedisch für Idioten Overview
