Frommer's German PhraseFinder & Dictionary (Frommer's Phrase Books) ReviewI purchased Frommer's German PhraseFinder & Dictionary (Frommer's Phrase Books) in preparation for a trip to Germany and it came in handy on a few occasions. I already knew some German so I didn't need to rely on the book all the time, but it was a nice reference for when I needed to recall a specific phrase before I did business. The food and menu reader sections were great. I think it would be a little difficult to carry this in a pocket and use it at the same time trying to speak to someone because that would take a lot of time. In addition, most of the Germans under 40 that I met spoke some English. In the cities, hotels and large restaurants English is common. I camped at campgrounds and found that they had someone on staff that spoke German.
