Friedrich was born on the 24th of January 1712 still being very popular in Germany. He also was a highly intelligent and enlightened man corresponding and debating with famous philosophers, writing poetry, playing transverse flute, composing music. On the other hand he was criticized being proud, cynical, devious, often not keeping his word and worst sacrificing his opinions for might even by resorting to violence.
In general Friedrich was a fascinating character whose first great biography was written by Franz Kugler in 1840 being famous up to now. This book originally written in gothic print now has been reprinted by the Hamburgian journalist Michael Hertel in modern script and layout "to save interested readers from old gothic script".
