Border Patrol Exam: Artificial Language Test Prep ReviewFirst- I do not have this edition of the book. Everything below is based on an earlier edition, however, I would assume that the poor quality control of the earlier edition will be reflected in future editions.After a perfunctory section on why someone would want to be a BPA and what the testing is like, the authors get straight to the point: taking practice tests as a method of studying for the real thing. I was disappointed to learn that "Practice Exam 1" is nothing more than a direct, word for word, copy of sample test provided by the government when you sign up to take the test. Not to be dismayed, I pressed on to "Practice Exam 2," which is riddled with errors. First, the author(s) use a different prefix for making negatives in the test than is given in the rules for that test. At other points, typographical errors create "right answers" that are spelled incorrectly and confusing. Additionally, some of the supposedly properly translated words in the questions lack the proper suffixes. All in all, both frustrating and disappointing.
As I mentioned first thing, this applies to an earlier edition (the one with a picture of a white and green BP van on it), so later editions might have corrected these mistakes.
